The Farm

Merlo Agritourism ‘s story began in 1996.

The first job was to convert the farm from conventional agriculture, with sales to large-scale distributors, to natural farming with sales direct from the field.

The second task was to transform the manor house into a small eco-friendly restaurant.

The objective was to build something that was a thousand miles away from hotel chains and any sort of standardisation. Our ambition was to create a place which reflected a few simple values: love of nature, care and respect for people, and to create an opportunity to experience the countryside. The possibility of accommodation was therefore also provided.

Since then, and year after year, we have seen our guests return for the authentic countryside experience, for the flavours of our products and our simple cuisine, and for the beauty of this place which combines the countryside with the nearby historic city of Venice.
